Made from Faux Stone Resin and Kamagong (Ironwood) fitted with brass bullock flange.

  • Brass adjustable bullock flange
  • Approximately 5 inches long and weighs 15 grams 
  • Ergonomic grip
  • Widest part of the body is 5/8 inches 
  • Bullock flange can fit all types of nibs.  Use a small phillips screwdriver to adjust the flange.
  • Resin is very fragile so please be careful not to drop it. Please note that each pen will have a different resin and wood pattern. Some may have more wood, some less. Due to its natural properties, some Kamagong wood will be darker and some lighter color.

I named this holder BOLO in honor of another Filipino Penman Mr. A. D. Bolo. Mr. Bolo was born 1906 in Carcar, Cebu, Philippines.  In 1928 he met Mr. J. J. Truitt, a skillful travelling penman of Oakland, California. He took some lessons from Mr. Truitt, who advised him to attend the Zanerian College of Penmanship. In 1929 he received some instruction in penmanship under Mr. L. T. Tjossems.  In 1931 he had the opportunity of attending the Zanerian College and was one of the leading penmen in the class. In 1936 he went back to the Philippines and was invited to give a talk on the Zaner-Bloser Handwriting method in an assemblage of about 300 school teachers. Mr. Bolo is not only one of the most sklllful penman of the Philippines, but also of the United States.(Pls read the full biography at Zanerian.com)
